Savage Paint Out Public Art Show and Awards Day
Saturday, April 22, 9 am - 1 pm
We are thrilled to announce our first Savage Paint Out (Mini Plein Air) in Spring 2023. Artists of all ages & experience are invited to paint an outdoor scene within the historic mill town of Savage, MD. Whether you are an experienced artist or have never even picked up a paintbrush before, anyone can participate! Register for free between March 1 and April 21 via this Eventbrite link.

Public Art Show and Awards Day
When: Saturday, April 22nd, 9:00am – 1:00pm
Where: Baldwin Common (Rain location: Carroll Baldwin Hall)
What: Art show and awards ceremony complemented by walking tour, food, beverages, free interactive art activities for all ages, and live music, all celebrating Earth Day 2023 in the beautiful town of Savage, MD!
Schedule of Events:
9:00am:
Painting Set Up
Artist must provide an easel for displaying their work and a title for their artwork. (Children participating in the show can display their work on the youth table without an easel.) If the work is for sale, provide a price. Artist is responsible for taking payment directly from the buyer.
Free Guided Savage Mill Trail Walking Tour
While the artists are setting up, the public is invited to meet members of the Savage Historical Society on the patio at Baldwin Common for an hour-long tour along the scenic Savage Mill Trail. The guide will point out natural and historic features along the way, highlighting the industrial history of the area, the community’s efforts to preserve the wealth of historic sites and protect the ecosystem, and goals to improve connections between the town and the surrounding trail system.

Let’s congratulate the winners and celebrate with champagne and cake! Visitors can view some of the winning pieces from the Savage Paint Out Art Show.
Selected works from the Savage Paint Out will be on display in Savage Mill’s New Weave Commons through May 8, 2023.
