Baldwin Hall's 101st Birthday Bash
Sunday, Nov. 12, 1:30-5:30 pm
Baldwin Hall is a treasured gathering place in the heart of Savage. Join us in celebrating its 101st birthday!
Stop by at your convenience throughout the afternoon for a piece of birthday cake and to catch up with neighbors and take part in fun activities.
1:30 - 3:30 pm: Games and Paint Afternoon
Board and card games will be provided, or bring your own!
A Paint Afternoon (painting TBD) will be led by Savage resident Andi Lecha, an Artist and Interior Designer living in our very own Savage, MD. Growing up in the area, Andi has always enjoyed the beauty of Carroll Baldwin Hall. With her Bachelors of Fine Art in Painting and years of teaching experience, she's got what it takes to lead you step-by-step to creating your very own masterpiece!
Admission ($15) will cover the 2-hour session and the cost of supplies. Limited to 20 participants. Tickets will be online soon.
3:30 - 5:30 pm: Free Screening of the Family-Friendly Movie Matilda
About Matilda: An intelligent little girl who is neglected by her parents discovers that she has telekinetic powers. Not until a teacher shows her kindness for the first time does she realize that she can use those powers to do something about her sufferings and help her friends as well.
Starting with silent movies and early "talkies" in the 1920s, the Hall has a long tradition of hosting film screenings for the residents of Savage. Bring your own comfy seating or grab one of our chairs for the screening, organized in cooperation with our friends at the Savage Library. Snacks (and cake!) will be provided, or feel free to bring your own.
